Interpath Advisory has today confirmed the appointment of Mark Raddan as Chief Executive Officer.
Mark (45) succeeds Blair Nimmo (64) who is set to retire following a career spanning 40 years during which he rose to become one of the UK’s pre-eminent restructuring professionals.
In May 2021, alongside Blair Nimmo and Will Wright, Mark Raddan spearheaded the transaction which led to the creation of Interpath, following the sale of KPMG’s UK Restructuring practice to its managing directors and H.I.G Capital.
Mark has since led the expansion of the firm’s advisory capabilities including the growth of its M&A, Transaction Services, Valuations, Debt Advisory, Tax and Regulatory Advisory services, cementing Interpath’s position as a truly multi-disciplinary advisory firm.
For much of his earlier career, Mark specialised in value creation and turnaround, helping organisations both in the UK and internationally to drive commercial and operational change, with a particular focus on value creation and profit and cash improvement. Prior to Interpath, Mark spent 22 years at KPMG, including 11 as partner, where latterly he was Global Head of Turnaround and a member of the firm’s UK Board.
Speaking about his appointment, Mark Raddan said: “It is an enormous privilege to be taking over as Chief Executive of Interpath at such an exciting time in our growth journey. Demand for both our advisory services and our restructuring offerings is strong, as ongoing economic uncertainty creates both challenge and opportunity for businesses large and small.”
With Mark Raddan being appointed as Chief Executive of the Interpath group, including its operations overseas, Will Wright (47) has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Interpath’s business in the UK. Formerly Head of Restructuring, Will is a restructuring and special situations M&A specialist, leading many of Interpath’s most high-profile assignments, most notably in the retail and consumer markets segments.
Commenting on his appointment, Will Wright said: “Here in the UK, we are growing at a rapid pace, particularly as we invest in our Advisory capabilities. We continue to recruit top talent from across the professional services sector, as seen with our recent hires of market-leading practitioners in the Financial Services and Real Estate advisory sectors.”
International Growth
Since launching in May 2021, Interpath has grown to employ approximately 750 people, with 15 offices across the UK, Ireland, BVI and Cayman Islands.
Speaking on the firm’s plans for international expansion, Mark Raddan said: “We also remain resolute in our ambition to become a truly international firm, with an office footprint in all major global financial markets.
“Last month, we announced the appointment of Barema Bocoum to our group executive committee as we accelerate our plans to expand into mainland Europe, and expect to announce further hires on the continent over the coming weeks and months.”
“With the backing of our investors, we want to step on the gas for growth. To this end, undertaking strategic acquisitions of both high-performing teams and businesses, both in the UK and internationally, forms a key pillar of our growth strategy. We have the energy, hunger and agility to truly make our mark on the global advisory stage, and can look forward with confidence to the next phase of our journey.”
Paying tribute to his predecessor, Mark Raddan said: “I am enormously proud to be succeeding Blair who leaves behind an impressive legacy, not just in helping to build the very foundations of this firm, but also for his wider contribution to the Restructuring and Insolvency profession. I’d like to thank him for the tireless support he has given me in our time working together.”
