He has a long-standing track record of advising on complex transactions, carve-outs and strategic partnerships and alliances, and in recent times, has advised on a number of significant French and cross-border transactions, including those involving AccorInvest, Technicolor and Casino.
He was previously EMA Head of Turnaround and Restructuring at KPMG. He began his Restructuring career with KPMG in London, before moving to Paris to support the development of the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring practice in France. He was appointed head of the practice in 2020, and under his leadership, the business grew to become a clear leader in the French market.
In his new role, Baréma will support Interpath’s group CEO and wider executive leadership team to expand Interpath’s geographic footprint into mainland Europe.
Commenting on his appointment, Mark Raddan, head of Advisory for Interpath Advisory said: “We are delighted to welcome Baréma to the firm and to our senior leadership team.
“We have long been vocal in our ambition to build the world’s leading advisory and restructuring business, with a significant presence in all major financial centres around the globe. Baréma’s experience of building and leading world-class teams will be pivotal as we push on with our near-term plans of expanding our business into mainland Europe, seeking to disrupt the traditional professional services market as we do so.”
Interpath currently employs circa 750 people based across 15 offices in the UK, Ireland, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands. By 2030, the firm aims to be one of the world’s leading financial advisory firms, with plans to grow to 2000 staff across a truly global office footprint.
Baréma Bocoum, managing director at Interpath Advisory, said: “Having followed Interpath’s growth journey since its inception, I’m struck by the sheer scale and strength of ambition across the business. In just three years, they have already shaken up the traditional professional service model in the UK and Ireland, winning some of the most exciting mandates in the market and seizing market share from the Big 4. Their hunger, energy and drive to become one of the world’s leading financial advisory firms is palpable, so I’m really excited to be working with the senior leadership team as we build and grow our presence across mainland Europe.”
Originally from Mali, Baréma has a passion for fostering inclusion and developing talent through education. Over the course of his career, he has played a significant role working with foundations and associations including Enactus, Pluribus and Rev'elles.
