The future of tranScrip, the specialist pharmaceutical consultancy, has been secured following a sale of the business and its assets to TMC Pharma Services Ltd.
The transaction brings together two highly accomplished, multidisciplinary teams with a shared commitment to helping emerging biotech and pharma companies progress therapies from innovative science to patients.
Headquartered in Berkshire and with operations in Ireland, tranScrip is a specialist pharmaceutical consulting firm that supports biotech and small pharma companies by providing access to expert drug development capabilities for the design and delivery of complex programmes.
Established in 2001, TMC is a global pharma services company operating across hubs in the UK, US and EU (Ireland) and through its vast network of global contractors in over 70 countries. TMC offers end-to-end drug development solutions, from early-phase consulting and clinical development to market access and drug commercialisation. With over 20 years’ experience and a strong reputation, tranScrip’s expert medical, clinical and regulatory solutions complement TMC’s existing services.
The sale of tranScrip’s business and assets to TMC was undertaken via a pre-pack administration process, which saw Rick Harrison and Howard Smith from Interpath appointed as joint administrators to tranScrip Limited on 14 August 2026. In addition, Eamonn Richardson and Kieran Wallace from Interpath were appointed as joint receivers over tranScrip Ireland Limited on the same date.
The sale ensures continuity for tranScrip’s customers, as well as its team of circa 45 employees who have transferred to TMC as part of the transaction.
Commenting on the acquisition, Simon Estcourt, CEO of TMC, said: “We are pleased to welcome tranScrip into TMC. Throughout our discussions, we have been consistently impressed by the depth of expertise and the strength of client relationships across the business. The combination strengthens our ability to support clients throughout the development lifecycle while creating new opportunities for growth and collaboration.”
Rick Harrison, managing director at Interpath, added: “tranScrip has played an important role in the innovation and commercialisation of new medicines, including treatments for Covid-19, as well as immunological and gene therapies. We’re therefore delighted to have completed this transaction, which brings together two highly complementary businesses with a shared vision.”
