Tim Bateson and Ryan Grant from Interpath were appointed Joint Administrators of WCM Europe Ltd (WCM) on 3 March 2026.
Based in Basildon, Essex, WCM is an established automotive manufacturer supplying components to a number of recognisable vehicle manufacturers. The Company forms part of the wider UK automotive supply chain, supporting production programmes across multiple vehicle platforms.
The Company has experienced increasing financial pressures, including the impact of the failure of a key customer along with the wider issues that have been experienced across the UK automotive supply chain in the last few years. Despite the directors exploring a number of potential options to address these challenges, the financial position continued to deteriorate, and the directors concluded that the appointment of administrators was required.
Working alongside management, Interpath engaged with key customers to secure short term funding support, enabling a four week trading period from the Company’s facility in Basildon, Essex, during which the Joint Administrators will explore a potential sale of the business and its assets.
