Joint Receivers Mark Degnan and Darryl McKenna from Interpath have entered into a binding agreement for the sale of Waterford Whisky’s core assets to Tennessee Distilling Group (TDG). The transaction includes the Waterford Distillery, the Waterford Whisky brand portfolio and all associated intellectual property. The process will be complete within the coming weeks following regulatory requirements.
Waterford Whisky has earned a reputation for its clear production approach centred on terroir, barley provenance and precision distillation. The brand has built international recognition and established a strong position in the Irish single malt category.
TDG plans to invest significantly in the distillery, strengthen operations and grow the team in Waterford. The group brings comprehensive technical capabilities and experience from its established heritage in the United States, which also includes an extensive global reach. The investment will support long term stability for the distillery, create new jobs in the region, expand its role in the local economy and open up new international markets.
Mark Degnan, Managing Director at Interpath, said: “I want to thank all parties who engaged in this process to secure the future of the distillery, and we’re pleased this transaction has been successfully agreed, delivering a positive outcome for the business and its stakeholders. This investment from Tennessee Distilling Group provides a clear platform for future growth and represents a strong commitment to both the Waterford brand, the local economy and the wider Irish whiskey sector.”
Interpath will continue to oversee the transition process as the transaction moves to completion.
