Interpath has appointed financial due diligence expert, James Zuurbier, as a Managing Director to lead on building out the UK Financial Services Transaction Services offering. This key hire further strengths the firm's financial services deal advisory capabilities across the UK and Europe.
James brings more than 17 years of experience advising on complex transactions, having built a career spanning banking audit and transaction advisory. James began his career at KPMG before moving to Barclays during the bank's non-core programme, where he gained first-hand exposure to strategic transactions and developed an interest in M&A. Following this James moved to EY, where he spent seven years advising on financial services deals and engagements across the sector, and worked on a range of high-profile transactions and significant capital markets opportunities.
Joining Interpath from RSM, where he led the development of the firm's UK Financial Services Transaction Services offering, James will apply his extensive experience to support clients across the financial services sector including insurance, wealth management and specialist lending sectors. At Interpath, he will work closely with Zohair Motiwala in the Financial Services M&A team in the UK, as well as alongside Benjamin Tarac and Marc Civita in France, to support the expansion of the firm's cross-border financial services transaction capabilities.
Nick Parkhouse, Interpath’s Global Head of Financial Services, said: “James will be a valuable asset to Interpath bringing significant experience and a strong track record of delivering financial due diligence on complex financial services transactions. As we continue to invest in our financial services capabilities, James' appointment further strengthens our full-service deal advisory proposition to financial services clients, and his experience will contribute greatly to delivering the high-quality, sector-focused advice our clients expect.”
Commenting on his appointment, James Zuurbier, Managing Director, Transactions Services at Interpath, added: “Financial services remains an active market, with continued opportunities across banking, wealth and asset management, specialist lending and insurance broker markets. I've seen first-hand how increasingly important cross-border perspectives have become for clients, and while many transactions remain domestic, larger and more complex deals often require a broader lens. Interpath is a business that combines deep sector expertise with a genuinely international platform, and this gives us the ability to bring that global perspective to clients."
