She later joined EY's Private Equity Strategy and Transaction Services practice, where she was responsible for the firm's mid-cap private equity business, and most recently helped to establish the Defence offering for PE investors.
Over the course of her career, she has advised a broad range of private equity and corporate clients on significant domestic and cross-border transactions including advising KME SE and Apollo Capital Management Ltd. on the buyback of the stake in Cunova GmbH held by Paragon; Goldman Sachs-owned Aptos LLC on the sale of its Icelandic subsidiary LS Retail to Axcel Management A/S; and KLAR Partners in connection with its acquisition of the Konzmann Group from Adiuva Capital GmbH.
Based in Interpath’s Frankfurt office, Kerstin joins Interpath’s fast-growing Deals team which provides M&A, Debt and Capital Advisory, Transaction Services and Integration & Separation services. In addition to leading Interpath’s Deals offering in DACH, Kerstin will also serve as the firm’s Global Head of Transaction Services, helping to drive the growth of the firm's transaction services capability worldwide.

Josefine began her career at Lufthansa Cargo before moving to Roland Berger’s Restructuring practice. She then spent ten years in various senior positions at Coca-Cola, She subsequently joined AlixPartners as a Director before moving to Alvarez & Marsal in 2021.
The two senior appointments reflect both the continued expansion of Interpath's business across the DACH region as well as the firm's wider global growth ambitions. After establishing its presence in the region in 2025, Interpath is establishing itself among the leading providers of transaction, restructuring, financing and value creation advisory services across the DACH market.
Commenting on the appointment, Nils Kuhlwein, Head of Interpath DACH, said: “I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Kerstin and Josefine. The fact that we have been able to attract both of them to Interpath is a real coup, and demonstrates that we offer an attractive proposition with a high degree of autonomy and opportunity to shape the business. Their arrivals also reflect our ambition and objective to establish ourselves among the leading multidisciplinary full-service firms across DACH, both in transaction advisory and in services relating to financing, restructuring and value creation.”
Kerstin Leuschner added: “Interpath stands for entrepreneurship and client focus. In the mid-market, where a large proportion of transaction volume is generated, private equity investors today expect more than a rapid analysis of financial data. They are looking for a partner who can place the numbers in the context of the investment thesis, challenge assumptions and work together with the investor to develop robust financial judgement. I am very much looking forward to leading our Transaction Services practice across Interpath, building it together with my colleagues across the world, and further strengthening Interpath’s presence across the DACH region.”
Josefine Hänsel said: “I am very excited to bring my experience from both consulting and industry to the Restructuring team at Interpath, helping to shape the continued development and expansion of the firm’s service offering in the DACH region. I find Interpath’s entrepreneurial approach, combined with the opportunity to build a team and establish a new brand, particularly compelling. I look forward to working with the team as we help our clients to navigate the challenges or opportunities they are facing.”
